Yesterday, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of European Affairs, Arbr Ademi PhD participated in an informal meeting of the General Affairs Council of the EU of Ministers for European Affairs, organised by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands as EU presidency chairman.
At the dinner was discussed the development of the latest situation in the European Union.
The series of informal bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Albania, Bulgaria, Turkey and representatives of Montenegro, Slovenia, Croatia and the United Kingdom exchanged views on the current political developments in the country with a focus on the preparation of elections and the situation at the Macedonian- Greek border.
The special bilateral meeting with the Foreign Ministry of the Netherlands, the interlocutors were particularly interested in the preparation of the forthcoming elections, emphasising that only credible elections with widely accepted results will provide a return of Macedonia on the Euro-Atlantic path.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude for the consistent support of the Kingdom of Netherlands, including the time during the EU presidency, stressing that the migrants and refugees crisis shows how important it is for the Western Balkans to be integrated into the EU as soon as possible.
