State Secretary for European Affairs Ana Blazheska, this weekend, the 5th-6th November participated on a conference of the Institute "Confucius", which was held within the cooperation of the People's Republic of China with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe, in Riga, Latvia.
In her address at the conference Blazheska referred to the cooperation between the Macedonian government and the Institute of Chinese language "Confucius" in order to establish Chinese language classes for administrative servants. "Trained civil servants who know the People's Republic of China and speak the Chinese language is a prerequisite for further successful initiation and implementation of projects between the two countries in different areas," stressed Blazheska, adding that such cooperation is an innovative initiative that can be an example and good direction for the governments of the other countries within the cooperation 16 + 1.
The cooperation 16 + 1 is an initiative of the People's Republic of China to intensify and expand the cooperation with the 11 EU member- states and 5 Balkan countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Latvia, Montenegro Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia and Macedonia) in the field of investments, transport, finance, science, education and culture , and within this initiative China has defined three potential priority areas for economic cooperation: infrastructure, high technologies, as well as green technologies.
