The Secretariat for European Affairs today hosted a conference on topic "Preparation of the National Version of European Union acquis- Current Status and Challenges", which was held within the twinning project "Further strengthening of the organisational and institutional capacities of the EU integration process".
The conference was opened by the State Secretary for European Affairs Ana Blazheska and the Croatian experts Miljenka Prohaska Kragovic and Ana Roshikj had their remarks and presentations at the conference. In her address, Blazheska noted that the translation process is of crucial importance for the citizens of Macedonia and therefore active cooperation is necessary between the institutions, academia and civil society to provide quality translation of acts from all areas of the European legislation.
The current work of the Sector for preparation of the national version of the EU acquis communautaire and the Croatian experience in this area were presented at the conference, and attendees were representatives of relevant ministries and institutions of the state administration, representatives of civil society organisations, universities and other institutions dealing with scientific and research activities.
One of the main activities of the establishment of the Secretariat for European Affairs is the process of preparation of the national version of the EU acquis communautaire and in this process SEA is facing a double challenge: initial translation of the legislation of the EU on the one hand and the final product - the national version of the EU acquis communautaire on the other.
