The Secretariat for European Affairs and the Civil Aviation Agency today signed a Memorandum of cooperation on preparation of the national version of the acquis communautaire in the field of civil aviation, as well as cooperation on other issues within the competences of both institutions.
"The preparation of the national version of the EU is a complex process that is aimed at harmonisation and transposition of the EU acquis into the national legal system, while at the same time it is a process in which we should to respond to the numerous challenges in linguistic, professional and legal terms," said State Secretary Ana Blazheska, adding that quality translations of EU legal acts represent a common good of every citizen of the Republic of Macedonia, the business community, NGOs, state institutions. Also, State Secretary Blazheska underlined the importance of the cooperation between the two institutions in terms of training of staff, as well as in the use of European funds and bilateral development assistance.
The director of the Agency, Jandreoski expressed satisfaction of the Memorandum and announced intensified communication as well as organisation of seminars and conferences that would enhance the preparation of the national version of the EU acquis in the field of civil aviation.
The Memorandum of cooperation has the ultimate goal to provide quality and accurate national version of the European Union acquis, which will find an adequate response to the new terms and concepts that bring the process of European integration in terms of the norms of the Macedonian language, as compared to the current legal system of the Republic of Macedonia.
Civil Aviation is the area in which the Secretariat has achieved the highest percentage of high quality prepared legislation and an example of how to implement inter-institutional cooperation on the translation of European legislation.
