Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of European Affairs and National IPA Coordinator, Ademi PhD today addressed at the launch of the project: "Rehabilitation and expansion of the sewerage network in the municipality of Kumanovo".
In his speech Ademi stressed that this project is of great importance for the town due to the long-term resolution of problems in the sewerage network, and it was implemented with European funds - IPA 1 assets amounting to 4.3 million Euros. Additional funds through IPA 2 are planned for various actions in Kumanovo and the surrounding region amounting to about 11 million €.
Ademi as National IPA Coordinator stressed that different projects in the environmental sector under IPA I are implemented or in implementation process, worth about 70 million € and announced that, according to the Country Strategy Paper funds amounting to 113 million Euros are provided under IPA II 2014-2020.
Ademi expressed gratitude for the support from the European Union that we gain since the independence of the country and emphasised that environmental protection and climate change, taking into account the European standards and criteria is of crucial importance to us and therefore we will continue to make efforts in the implementation of projects that will ensure the protection of nature and a better quality of life for the citizens of Macedonia
