"The economic cooperation between the countries of the region increases the competitiveness of our economy and prepares it to deal with the competitive pressure within the EU", stressing that the active participation in the bodies of CEFTA is in line with the strategic priorities of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia for EU membership, achieving dynamic economic growth and rising living standard", said the Deputy Prime Minister Ademi in his opening speech at the Regional conference "Republic of Macedonia- 10 years of CEFTA 2006".
Speaking of the importance of the economic cooperation in the region, as well as the contribution of CEFTA, Ademi emphasised that the activities within CEFTA are an integral part of many national and regional strategic documents, out of which I would mention the National Programme for Adoption of the Acquis, Chapter 30- external relations. The activities in this chapter are aimed at achieving a high level of trade integration between our country, the Western Balkan countries and the EU.
The conference "Republic of Macedonia - 10 years of CEFTA 2006" was opened by the Minister of Economy Driton Kuqi, and the Acting Director of CEFTA, Mr. Umut Ergezer , as well as experts from Macedonia and abroad and representatives from institutions, economic chambers and the academia addressed at the panel discussions.
