The Committee for Stabilisation and Association between the Republic of Macedonia and the European Union held the thirteenth consecutive meeting on June 15th, 2016 in Skopje.
The meeting from our side was chaired by Ana Blazheska, State Secretary in the Secretariat for European Affairs of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia and David Cullen, Head of Unit for the Republic of Macedonia in DG Neighbourhood and Enlargement Policy, chair from the side of the European Commission.
The meeting of the Committee for Stabilisation and Association completed a cycle of seven sectoral subcommittees within the Stabilisation and Association Process starting from February 2016. The results of the Committee"s meeting will be presented within the Council for Stabilisation and Association, which will be held in July 2016.
Committee for Stabilisation and Association referred to the fulfilment of the political and economic criteria in the past period, as well as the level of implementation of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement.
The representatives of the Republic of Macedonia reaffirmed their commitment to the process of European integration as a key strategic priority of the country and pledged to show tangible progress in implementing the obligations of the EU agenda, especially in the areas of the Urgent Reform Priorities. In this context was made a short reflection on the key events and planned activities in terms of the political and economic criteria during the meeting.
The meeting was held just in time and it is a useful preparation for the forthcoming Council for Stabilisation and Association.
