Today Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of European Affairs, Arbr Ademi PhD had a meeting with HE Ms Louisa Vinton Resident Coordinator of the UN and UNDP Resident Representative in our country.
Ms. Vinton congratulated Deputy Prime Minister Ademi's appointment, hoping to further improve the good cooperation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Ademi stressed that UNDP is an important partner of our country and continuously gives support in important areas such as democratic governance, social inclusion, environment and energy.
During the meeting they discussed the current activities undertaken by UNDP in relation to the implementation of the project for rehabilitation of flood damages with IPA funds.
Also, they spoke of the possibilities for providing support for the establishment of a system for early warning and prevention of flooding in Polog region. They discussed UNDP projects implemented through European funds for the fiscal decentralisation process and the measures for self-employment.
It was also stated that it would be important to examine the possibility of extending the support and relative areas related to urgent reform priorities.
Furthermore, the interlocutors took note of the significant commitment and support provided by the UNDP and the other UN agencies to address the challenges of migrant crisis and to provide appropriate humanitarian assistance to migrants.
