-Austria is a country that recognizes the true and undoubted orientation of North Macedonia towards Euro-Atlantic values and ideals, and our task remains in the following period to keep the country on the European path and to work rapidly to achieve this important goal, which will contribute to the security and prosperity of the countries of the region as a whole, said Deputy Prime Minister Maricikj.
The government representatives at the meeting shared the position with the Federal EU Minister of Austria that the European Union is incomplete until the countries of the Western Balkans are part of it.
- The Federal Minister for the EU and the Constitution of the Republic of Austria, Karoline Edtstadler, shares with us the same vision and goal: North Macedonia and the region should be part of the EU as soon as possible, wrote Maricikj on his Facebook profile.
Kovacevski and Edtstadler expressed their mutual satisfaction with the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, which is also expressed in Austria's unequivocal support for the European integration process of the Republic of North Macedonia.
In that context, the interlocutors stated that North Macedonia is a credible partner of the EU, which can successfully contribute to the development of the most important European policies and has the capacity to act together with the EU and respond to the challenges faced by the whole Europe.
At the meeting they also discussed the deepening of cooperation and the promotion of the traditionally good relations between the two countries, in the field of culture, energy and reform activities related to the green agenda.
Austria is one of our most important partners, with whom in the last two and a half decades we have witnessed excellent cooperation and achieved results in the implementation of many projects in sectors of great importance for the development of the country, such as environmental protection, energy efficiency and opening in new jobs, announced the Secretariat for European Affairs.
