The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European affairs, Bojan Maricik, attended the opening of the first International Fair "Wine Vision of the Open Balkans" in Belgrade.
The authenticity of our products produced by Macedonian farmers, presented at this fair, reflects our tradition and culture, Maricik states.
According to him, Macedonian products, due to their recognition and uniqueness, make them competitive and in demand not only in the region but also in the world markets.
Maricik adds that the Government will continue to provide additional support for the economy by opening new opportunities for integrating the Macedonian into the European market.
The export, purchase, and new placements on the markets in the region and Europe of Macedonian food and wines are supported through the IPARD program which directly contributes to the improvement of market efficiency and to the approximation of EU standards in the agricultural and food sector, as well as to the development of the economy in rural areas while contributing to the strengthening of the domestic economy.
- In the period 2014-2020, 60 million euros were provided through the IPARD II program, of which almost 50% of the total amount was paid in the first half of the year. By the end of 2023, that is, until the closing of IPARD II, we expect this rate to increase significantly, taking into account that contracts with potential users have been concluded for the entire amount of the Program.
Support for the agricultural-food sector and the economy in rural areas will continue in the period 2021-2027, through IPARD III, which budget is 97 million euros, the Secretariat for European Affairs informs.
42 wineries and 3 distilleries from North Macedonia are participating in the Fair in Belgrade, which will present more than 300 different types of Macedonian wines and brandies, as well as more than 10 food producers from North Macedonia who will present authentic Macedonian cuisine.
The Macedonian tourist offer is presented through the Agency for Promotion and Support of Tourism and is focused on Macedonian Ethno-gastro tourism (tourism based on wine and food), national parks, natural and artificial lakes, UNESCO-protected areas, rural tourism, and adrenaline tourism
