The Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Bojan Maricik, today had a meeting with Filipe Donkel, non-resident Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the country, accompanied by Petar Arsovski, Honorary Consul of Luxembourg in our country.
At the excellent and constructive meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Maricik and Ambassador Donckel discussed several current topics, focusing on our European integration process.
The interlocutors assessed that our country cherishes European values and that it is a credible partner of the European Union, as we have already proved that we can successfully contribute to the development of the most important European policies and respond to the various crises we face by synchronizing action with the Union.
"We have excellent bilateral relations and cooperation between the two friendly countries, which we discussed with AmbassadorPhilippe Donckel and the possibilities of its intensification and advancement at all levels, especially in terms of supporting the implementation of the European reform agenda," said Deputy Prime Minister Maricik.
It was jointly concluded that the beginning of negotiations between North Macedonia and Albania with the European Union is in function of the stability of the Western Balkans and that now is the right time.
The meeting also highlighted the obvious progress in the implementation of reforms, which was noted by Luxembourg and other member states, agreeing that it should be respected and valued by the opening of negotiations with the EU.
