Today, 14.04.2016, the State Secretary, Ana Blazheska had a meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Romania in the Republic of Macedonia, HE Iustinian Focsa.
At the meeting they discussed the possibilities for cooperation in various areas with an emphasis on sharing experiences and knowledge on technical and expert level in terms of negotiations with the EU.
It was stressed that the bilateral relations between the two countries are good, but there is room for increased cooperation in order to support the process of European integration of the Republic of Macedonia.
Romania as one of the last countries that entered the European Union can provide the necessary knowledge and experience that will help in the negotiation process. Their experiences can provide added value to our efforts for sooner start of negotiations and their rapid closure.
It was emphasized that the two countries have signed a bilateral agreement to support the process of integration and reviewed possibilities for mutual cooperation. Also, the ambassador stressed that the country and state institutions have good care of the Vlach minority in the country with which Romania has close ties.
In the end it was concluded that the two countries should continue to develop opportunities for mutual support in the integration process as well as through the EU institutions.
