Deputy Prime Minister for
European Affairs Bujar Osmani had a working meeting with the President of the
Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Taki Fiti.
The purpose of the meeting is
to continue and strengthen the cooperation within the framework of the
Memorandum of Cooperation between the Secretariat for European Affairs and
MANU, towards reactivation of the Council for European Integration within the
Academy.
"Taking into account the
progress in the European integration, especially the beginning of the
explanatory screening, we need to activate the mechanisms for identifying,
mapping and involving various specialist and expert capacities belonging to the
academia, but also from the aspect of preparing for the start of negotiations,
mapping of all scientific and research capacities and individual experts
available according to chapter and areas of EU law," Osmani stressed.
Osmani informed the President
of MASA on the progress of implementation of the reform process, pointing to
the inclusiveness imposed during the implementation of Plan 3-6-9, which
pointed out the need and strengthening and deepening of the cooperation in
specific areas defined in the Plan 18 - judiciary, public administration and
security systems.
The interlocutors expressed
their agreement that the co-operation between the SEA and the MANU must
continue, and in accordance with the challenges of the European integration, to
be intensified.
