Deputy Prime Minister in
charge of European Affairs, Bujar Osmani, had a meeting with Thorsten Frei, a
member of the German Bundestag, who is visiting the Republic of Macedonia at an
invitation of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation.
At the meeting, the
interlocutors addressed the latest developments regarding the country's
progress in the European integration process, especially in the context of the
results of the referendum and the Euro-Atlantic perspectives of the country.
"We have received a
clear message from the citizens to the political elites to undertake the
responsibility to provide the country with a Euro-Atlantic future",
emphasized Osmani, pointing to the Parliament as an institution where the
implementation of the Prespa Agreement should continue, and in which
implementation should be included all political factors.
"The implementation of
this Agreement will move in parallel with the processes of implementation of
the reforms and commitments defined in the conclusions of the June summits, as
well as the proper implementation of the explanatory screening with the
European Commission that started last week," Osmani stressed, emphasizing
the commitment of the Secretariat for European Affairs for the full and proper
preparation of the negotiating structure for the negotiations in June next
year.
Osmani conveyed gratitude on
behalf of the Government for the overall support of Germany to the Republic of
Macedonia, thus expressing hope that in this final phase, we will jointly
overcome the latest challenges for completing the Euro-Atlantic perspective of
the country.
