Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs Bujar Osmani today had а meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia, Danijela Barisic.
At the meeting, Osmani informed the Ambassador Barisic on the Plan 3-6-9, which was presented yesterday for the first time in public, in which the Government"s reform priorities for unlocking the European integration processes were noted. "We have a reform government, which from the very beginning has been committed to implementаtion of reforms and accepts all remarks and recommendations by the European Union and the relevant documents that note the situations in Macedonia", Osmani stressed.
He also reflected the mutual cooperation, recalling the numerous activities for exchange of experiences between the two countries, out of which one of the most significant recent twinning projects to strengthen EU coordination mechanisms he considered as most important. Also, in the spirit of long-standing friendship, Osmani also asked for Croatia"s support for the European aspirations of the Republic of Macedonia.
"Croatia, as an EU member state and a country from the region, has a special interest in joining the Western Balkans countries in the EU, and as our friend, we expect it to be a lobbyist country for the Macedonian European integration processes, within the European Union," stressed Deputy Prime Minister Osmani.
At the end of the meeting, the interlocutors agreed that the cooperation between the two countries is friendly, but that it should continue with greater intensity. Croatia, as the newest EU Member State, has the most recent experience in the negotiations process with the Union, something that can be of great assistance to the Republic of Macedonia.
