OSMANI: BILATERAL COOPERATION BETWEEN SWEDEN AND NORTH MACEDONIA TO DEEPEN
11:39, Friday, September 13, 2019

Deputy Prime Minister in charge of European Affairs, Bujar Osmani within his working visit to the Kingdom of Sweden had separate meetings with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Kingdom of Sweden, Andreas Norlen, as well as with the Minister for International Development Cooperation, Peter Eriksson.

At the meetings, beside the European perspectives of the country, they opened the topics of bilateral development cooperation as well as the parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

"The fact that the Republic of North Macedonia remains on the agenda for development cooperation of Sweden in the forthcoming period is satisfying, which demonstrates the continued expansion of our bilateral development cooperation, which is extremely important to us in this crucial period of the country's EU integration. "- said Deputy Prime Minister Osmani at the meeting with Minister Erikson, conveying his gratitude for this support on behalf of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.

During the meeting Osmani, in the role of a National Coordinator for Foreign Assistance, emphasised that the support that the country receives from the UNOPPS Office in Skopje is fundamentally important to us, which, as an Agency is in charge of implementing the Nordic Progress project, and expressed confidence that it would contribute to a more efficient and improved development project co-operation.

During his working visit to Sweden, Osmani will also have a meeting with the Minister for European Affairs, Hans Dalgren.

The visit to the Kingdom of Sweden is part of Osmani's tour of European capitals ahead of the European Council's October meeting, followed by visits to Brussels, Berlin, Warsaw, etc.
