OSMANI: REFORMS WILL BE DELIVERED - WE EXPECTE SPECIFIC RESULTS THIS YEAR
10:47, Monday, January 14, 2019

Deputy Prime Minister Bujar Osmani today in the premises of the Secretariat for European Affairs held a briefing with the Ambassadors of the EU member states in Macedonia, where he presented the status of the implementation of the Plan18.

"We managed to close literally all open political issues, leaving room for broader and deeper implementation of the reform process," Osmani emphasised at the beginning of the meeting, referring firstly on the success of the implementation of the Prespa Treaty through the adoption of constitutional amendments in the Assembly.

In addition, Osmani referred to the previously implemented activities from Plan 18, as well as the challenges for its further implementation. ,,We have advancement in every area of Plan 18: in the judiciary, where a large number of laws are in their final phase; in the reform of the security services, where the tapping system is already adequately separated from the security and intelligence system; and there is progress in the activities foreseen with the reforms of the public administration, "Osmani said, expressing satisfaction with the implementation of Plan 18 in all areas.

"The first working day of this year was called the European Integration Working Committee, where the highest managerial structure of the entire state administration was referring to the reforms from Plan 18, and I am personally satisfied with their commitment," Osmani stressed, giving strong assurance to Ambassadors that Plan 18 will be timely implemented, in order to ensure that its implementation is properly noted in the upcoming European Commission Progress report on the country.

In the end, Osmani expressed gratitude to the ambassadors of the EU member states for their support to the reform process and, in general, the European integration of the country, expressing hope that this support will result in concrete results this year, translated into start of the negotiations for full membership in the European Union.
