OSMANI: WE WILL KEEP THE COURSE OF PROGRESS IN THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE TWO COUNTRIES
13:05, Monday, November 19, 2018

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia in charge of European affairs, Bujar Osmani, had a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Kosovo in the country, Gjergj Dedaj.

Deputy Prime Minister Osmani firstly congratulated the Ambassador for his appointment, and expressed hope that the extremely successful cooperation so far between the two countries will continue during his term.

"We have numerous joint projects that are being implemented, such as the Belanovce- Stancic border crossing, but also numerous other projects from the cross-border cooperation programme that are under way or are waiting for implementation, for whose success I believe we will jointly dedicate ourselves," stated Osmani. At the meeting they opened the topics on the two countries' progress in the European integration, as well as the overall progress of the region in terms of European perspectives.

"The Parliament gave the first green light for the constitutional changes in accordance with the Prespa agreement, which not only opened the way for implementation of the obligations of the Treaty, but also created conditions to accelerate the reform process of the country," Osmani stressed, thus pointing to the success of the Prespa Treaty, but also earlier, the Treaty on Good Neighbourly relations with Bulgaria, as an incentive for the other countries in the region, to invest more efforts and more courage in overcoming the mutual disputes as a common interest of the whole region.

In addition, the two interlocutors agreed that they will continue to work in the direction of enhancing the relations between the two countries, supporting each other in the Euro-Atlantic integration.
